rule
Three sex scenes, shownThe first episode opens on a night of cheating in the half-light: kissing, bodies wrapped together, a woman seen from behind with her back bare, for close to a minute. Two shorter scenes follow, on waking up in episode 2 and in the dark in episode 5. No frontal nudity.
Drugs at a teen partyIn episode 3, the couple's 16-year-old son ends up at a party where people drink whisky; lines of powder sit on the table and one teenager snorts a line. In episode 4, a young adult pulls out a bag of powder in a bar bathroom, without anyone being seen taking it.
Adults who will stop at nothingThe wife has a young woman seduce her husband to get a photo, then the young woman is paid to keep quiet. The lawyers promise each other dirty tricks, a mole feeds the other side, and one lawyer humiliates a colleague in a meeting by mocking his old stammer.
A family thrown to the wolvesThe son learns about the cheating, punches a boy who insults his mother and witnesses a violent fight between his parents. In episode 5, his mother breaks down on live television, then faces a wave of hate in the press and online, with photographers at her door. That punch and, in the first episode, a nose broken by a punch between adults are the only violence.
Constant, harsh swearingThe swearing is heavy, far more in the original English than in the French dub, with the f-word leading the way, especially in episode 3, where the son hurls the c-word at the boy who mocked his mother.
What the series brings
A sharp, fast-moving legal drama about what money, lies and public exposure do to a family, seen partly through the eyes of the teenager caught in the middle.
