What it's about

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, devoted to taking care of his kid, whether that's Andy or Bonnie. But after Bonnie creates a reluctant new toy called "Forky", a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends challenges everything Woody believes about loyalty, purpose, and what it truly means to be a toy.

Why 6

Above the official rating, and whyRated G in the US (general audiences). We say 6: A homemade toy, a slightly creepy antique shop and a goodbye at the end: six alone, five with an adult.

Ventriloquist dummies in the darkAn antique store, a doll who wants Woody's voice box, and four ventriloquist dummies who move without a word. The film knows they are scary and plays with it; the youngest do not always laugh.
shown
A toy that no longer feels usefulWoody is no longer picked and stays in the closet. A doll has waited years for a child, a stuntman was thrown away because he could not jump far enough. The sadness is said with a smile, but it is there.
said
A fork that wants the trashForky throws himself in the trash the moment he is let go, again and again. It is a running gag that gets laughs, and that some children take literally.
said
An escape, a chase, a catA jump out of a moving camper van, a carnival, a store cat, a plush toy torn open. Fast, never bloody.
shown
A goodbye between friendsThe ending parts lifelong friends. The farewell is long, tender, and makes the grown-ups cry.
