The official US rating is PG-13, and we never go below it. Alone from 13, and not before, even with an adult.

The sweet spot: around 13, when you already know the heroes and can follow a half-hour battle over New York knowing it is a show. Why a sweet spot?

Official US rating: PG-13. In France, zinema would say 11.

rule
Coulson dies, New York burnsAgent Coulson run through by Loki's sceptre, his death on the floor with blood on his cards; an invasion of Manhattan, gutted buildings, soldiers killed at the opening. Much destruction, almost no blood.
Skull-faced aliens and a HulkThe Chitauri and their flying leviathans, Hulk who growls and smashes everything, Loki controlling minds with a tap of his sceptre; long fights, noise, six jump scares. Nothing truly frightening after ten.
Swearing and schnappsSixteen swear words in English, Tony offering Loki a drink; nothing sexual.

What the movie brings

Six heroes who argue before they get along: the film is a team story before it is a battle.
Hulk swinging Loki like a doll: the scene replayed in the playground.
The first big Marvel gathering, which still explains who is who.
