What it's about

While running from a drug deal gone bad, Mike Ross, a brilliant young college-dropout, slips into a job interview with one of New York City's best legal closers, Harvey Specter. Tired of cookie-cutter law school grads, Harvey takes a gamble by hiring Mike on the spot after he recognizes his raw talent and photographic memory.

Why 14

• The official rating, firstRated TV-14 in the US (parents strongly cautioned, may be unsuitable for children under 14). zinema never goes below the country's rating: it explains it.
  rule
• A lot of seductionSexual references come up in almost every episode, and the show has seduction scenes in underwear and couples in bed, without explicit nudity. One character appears naked in a locker room, played for comedy.
• Some weed, early onIn the first season the hero has sold weed and smokes it with a friend; after that, drugs mostly come up in clients' cases.
• A drink at every meetingThere is a lot of drinking, whisky in the office and drinks after work, and some smoking.
• Swearing, never extremeSwearing is frequent but rarely crude, and rival lawyers trade insults freely.
• Crimes, told rather than shownMurders and shootings come up in the cases but are almost never shown: the tension comes from lies and rivalries, not violence.

What the series brings

• A mentor relationship between two men who could not be more different.
• A question about lying and loyalty: how far do you cover for someone you admire?
• Sharp, funny dialogue in a demanding workplace.
