What it's about

Animal pals Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria are still trying to make it back to New York's Central Park Zoo. They are forced to take a detour to Europe to find the penguins and chimps who broke the bank at a Monte Carlo casino. When French animal-control officer Capitaine Chantel DuBois picks up their scent, Alex and company are forced to hide out in a traveling circus.

Why 6

Our readingA policewoman with a syringe and a circus bursting with colour, nothing that weighs: six alone, five with an adult.
reading
A policewoman with a syringeCaptain DuBois chases the animals through Monte Carlo and Rome with darts and tranquilliser, wants the lion's head on her wall, and the film makes her a cartoon villain: fast, loud, never truly dangerous.
shown
Explosions, fireworks, a casinoChases, flying cars, circus fire, a tiger leaping through a tiny ring: lots of noise and colour, a few screams.
shown
Goodbyes and tearsThe friends part for a while, a bear is heartbroken, dying is talked about without anyone dying; a small child may need a hand during those scenes.

What the movie brings

A circus reinventing itself: the wildest act beats the routine, and it is done together.
The return to New York as a dream, and the discovery that you no longer want it once you get there.
King Julien in love with a bear on a bicycle, an idea that makes everyone in the room laugh.
