What it's about

Frank, a single man raising his child prodigy niece Mary, is drawn into a custody battle with his mother.

Why 13

The official rating, firstRated PG-13 in the US (parents strongly cautioned, some material may be inappropriate for children under 13). zinema never goes below the country's rating: it explains it.

A mother who killed herselfMary's mother, a mathematician, took her own life when the girl was six months old; the film says so several times, and the child ends up understanding it on screen. The word death returns often.
A court deciding a child's fateThe uncle and the grandmother fight for custody before a judge, Mary is placed with a foster family, she cries and fights back; a school scene where a boy hits a little girl.
A night implied, wineThe uncle spends the night with the teacher, and the girl finds her there in the morning; plenty of glasses of wine, an innuendo or two.

What the movie brings
