From 13, alone or with a parent.
Alone, or with you
The official US rating is PG-13, and we never go below it. Alone from 13, and not before, even with an adult.
The sweet spot: around 13-15, when you have seen Dune, can watch prisoners' throats cut in an arena, and understand a hero becoming what he feared. Why a sweet spot?
Official US rating: PG-13. In France, zinema would say 12.
Follow the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, Paul endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Taken in by the Fremen after his house is destroyed, Paul learns to live in the desert, rides a worm, and gradually accepts the messiah's role laid on him, knowing what it will cost.
This film is the second half of a story begun in the first. It does not stand alone, and it changes subject along the way: from a son's revenge to the price of a prophecy. Nothing about it is triumphant. The ending looks like a victory and the film shoots it as a disaster, which disconcerts many viewers. As in the first film, there is no artificial intelligence: humans trained to calculate, to see and to compel replace the machines.
Warn about the arena and the final duel; a twelve-year-old who saw the first needs you for the ending, where the hero stops being the good guy; alone, fourteen.

Paul knows that becoming the messiah will start a war that kills billions, and becomes him anyway: what do we owe those who believe in us?
