What it's about

After being assigned to investigate the aftermath of a catastrophic plane crash, an NTSB black box analyst uncovers chilling audio anomalies that no one else seems willing to acknowledge. As he digs deeper for the truth, he provokes powerful forces determined to silence him before he exposes a shocking conspiracy.

Why 11

Above the official rating, and whyRated G in the US (general audiences). We say 11: A crash rebuilt from sound and an investigator losing his footing, with nothing shown: eleven, ten with an adult.
reading
A crash rebuilt from soundThree hundred passengers die in a plane that crashes in the Alps, and the film never shows it: you hear it, through the cockpit recordings the investigator plays over and over. It is more oppressive than an image, and a nine-year-old does not have the keys.
An investigator losing his footingMathieu doubts everyone, his wife included, and a colleague dies in a car accident that may not be one; the film is a paranoia thriller, with no violence shown.
The restSome fifteen swear words, cigarettes and a few drinks in the offices of the crash investigation bureau.

What the movie brings

How a crash is investigated: the black boxes, the recordings, the ear as a tool.
One man against an industrial machine, and the question of what you do once you know.
A French thriller without a single gunshot, held together by listening.

Watching it together

Before

Say beforehand that the film shows nothing but makes you hear a great deal, and that the plane carries real people; it is the listening that weighs.

After

at 11 and up

Mathieu keeps going when he is told to stop: at what point could he have been wrong?
