From 13, alone or with a parent.
Alone, or with you
The official US rating is PG-13, and we never go below it. Alone from 13, and not before, even with an adult.
The sweet spot: around 13-14, when you have seen the first two, can watch a giant spider and a bitten-off finger, and are ready to cry at the end. Why a sweet spot?
Official US rating: PG-13. In France, zinema would say 12.
As armies mass for a final battle that will decide the fate of the world--and powerful, ancient forces of Light and Dark compete to determine the outcome--one member of the Fellowship of the Ring is revealed as the noble heir to the throne of the Kings of Men. Yet, the sole hope for triumph over evil lies with a brave hobbit, Frodo, who, accompanied by his loyal friend Sam and the hideous, wretched Gollum, ventures deep into the very dark heart of Mordor on his seemingly impossible quest to destroy the Ring of Power.
Warn about Shelob, Denethor's pyre and Frodo's finger; an eleven-year-old who sat through the first two will go to the end with you.
at 13 and up
Frodo, having reached the end, cannot throw the Ring away: can you carry something so long without ending up belonging to it?
