Why is Scary Movie not recommended under 17?

What it's about

Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the Core Four are back in the killer's crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe.

Why 17

The official rating, firstRated R in the US (restricted, under 17 requires an accompanying parent); 12 ans in France. zinema never goes below the country's rating: it explains it.
rule
Two hundred swear words, one every thirty seconds207 in the original, 78 in the French dub. It is the film's language from start to finish, and the insults target bodies, sex, skin color, disability.
shown
Sex as the comic engine, all the timeEleven innuendos in the dialogue, jokes about penis size, the 'slutty schoolgirl', an 'I love roofying myself': nothing shown, everything said, and said for laughs.
shown
Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes: named forty timesGHB in the jello shots, joints, a heroine 'so high she can't feel her face': drugs are a running gag, with no consequence in the film.
shown
Mocking minorities is the trademarkThe Wayans laugh at everyone, and especially at what you are no longer allowed to say: 'fuck your pronouns', a 'special needs' police officer, a Twelve Years a Slave joke. A teenager without the culture of the ten spoofed films keeps the words, not the target.
said
A knife-wielding killer, for laughsThirty-four deaths named, stabbings and shootings spoofing Scream and the rest, five minutes of screaming: the violence is a joke, the blood is ketchup, but a ten-year-old sees it all the same.

What the movie brings

The parody that respects nothing: the Wayans' return, twenty-six years after the first, with the codes of the crudest American comedy.
Laughing at what scares us: the last ten years of horror films put through the grinder, for teens who have seen them all.
The pleasure of the reference: recognizing each spoofed scene is the film's real game.

Watching it together

Before

The film is made for older teenagers who have seen the films it spoofs. Watched with an adult, it is worth a conversation about what can be said for laughs and about who laughs at whom.

After

at 17 and up

Why do horror films make people want to laugh at them so much?
