What it's about
In the tense 72 hours before D-Day, and the fate of the free world hanging in the balance, General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Captain James Stagg face an impossible choice—launch the largest and most dangerous seaborne invasion in history or risk losing the war altogether.

- A pregnant wife in a bombed hospitalIn the middle of the crisis, the hero learns that the maternity hospital where his wife is in labor has been bombed and nobody knows whether she is alive. He has to keep working with no news. The general, for his part, is haunted by young draftees killed in a training exercise through a command error.said
- Darkness, jolts and noiseMuch of the film happens at night in dim rooms, and the quiet is regularly broken by bangs, gunfire and shouting.shown
