The official US rating is PG-13, and we never go below it. Alone from 13, and not before, even with an adult.

The sweet spot: around 13-14, when you love animals and can watch what a laboratory does to them, knowing the film takes their side. Why a sweet spot?

Official US rating: PG-13. In France, zinema would say 12.

What it's about

Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Why 13

The official rating, firstRated PG-13 in the US (parents strongly cautioned, some material may be inappropriate for children under 13). zinema never goes below the country's rating: it explains it.
rule
Rocket's childhood, in a labA raccoon operated on awake, mutilated, locked in a cage with an otter, a walrus and a rabbit also patched together; on the day of the escape, his three friends are shot before his eyes. It is the heart of the film, and what makes children cry.
Child test subjects and a destroyed planetA scientist who calls his creatures failures and destroys a whole planet with its inhabitants; children and animals in cages to save; long fights, screaming faces.
Thirty-four swear wordsSwearing and a few innuendos; nothing sexual.

What the movie brings

Marvel's saddest and tenderest film: what we do to animals, told at a child's height.
Rocket learning his real name: a scene that stays.
A family that parts on good terms: a rare ending.
