What it's about

An American Ambassador is killed during an attack at a U.S. compound in Libya as a security team struggles to make sense out of the chaos.

Why 17

The official rating, firstRated R in the US (restricted, under 17 requires an accompanying parent); 12 ans in France. zinema never goes below the country's rating: it explains it.
rule
A night of almost continuous warSix minutes of gunfire in all, over a hundred explosions, machine-gun and mortar assaults on a villa: the second half is a siege without respite, with wounded in close-up and blood at the centre of the frame for three minutes.
Real deaths, with namesThe ambassador dies of smoke in a fire, two soldiers are killed by a mortar at the end, and the film uses the real names; an arm amputation and a shredded leg are shown.
Soldiers' languageA hundred and forty-five swear words, cigarettes and beer while waiting.

What the movie brings

A true story told from the point of view of those who were there, without political speeches.
Six men who disobey to go and get colleagues: the question of orders and duty.
A siege filmed hour by hour, which shows what a night under fire really is: waiting, fear, calls that go unanswered.

Watching it together

Before

Warn that this is a true, long and bloody war film, and that men with names die in it; it is not an adventure.

After

at 17 and up

The six contractors leave despite the order to wait: were they right, and who decides?
